10 Truck Fuel Tank Burned NATO Militants

Truck fuel used to supply the army North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), burnt down by militants. Approximately 10 truck burned in the incident.

This attack took place about 350 kilometers in Khairpur city of Karachi, Pakistan. 10 truck driver was attacked while attacking tea at a restaurant.

"Two drivers and a waitress were injured in this attack. While 10 NATO trucks burned out, when dozens of people armed opened fire," said police officer Mohammad Hashim was quoted as saying by AFP on Tuesday (01/08/2011).

Hashim admitted it is difficult to guess who the party was behind the attack. However, the Taliban and Al Qaeda frequently carried out similar attacks with the intent to disrupt fuel supplies to NATO forces serving in Afghanistan.

While to date there has been no claim of responsibility in the attack. There is a possibility the Taliban or Al Qaeda will admit that this attack was the work of them.

The supply of fuel for NATO forces has become the target of attackers. Generally, these supplies are distributed by road from Pakistani territory into Afghanistan.
