Roadside bomb kills 18 in People

A total of 18 people, including children, were killed when the bus they were driving hit a roadside bomb blast in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

Helmand Provincial Government, Kamalludin Sherzai, said the explosion occurred this morning in District Nahri Sarraj and the militants who planted bombs fired on the police immediately.

No deaths stemming from the police, but on Thursday last three police were killed in a shootout in Gereshk district against the militants. Similarly, as reported by the Associated Press on Friday (07/29/2011).

According to UN reports, the number of Afghan civilians killed rose 15 percent in 2011. in the suburbs road bomb blast has killed as many as 440 suspected civilians.

Earlier, a suicide bomb also exploded in the Afghan government office buildings. A total of seven people bomber blew himself up. The attack was intended to terrorize the Afghan President Hamid Karzai and also cause public anxiety.
