great earthquake that killed 181 people in New Zealand was leaving the survivors, two-tailed goldfish, which survived for 134 days without food.
Gold fish named Shaggy and Daphne is caught up in the tank for nearly four and a half months or 134 days with no one to help provide food or electricity. Until finally the two fish were found and rescued.
Luckily the fish stayed in a large tank which ultimately results in algae and moss to eat their inventory.
"This is a story that menakjuban. I do not suspect that these fish can live for four months," said Paul Clarkson, curator of the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California as reported by the Telegraph on Wednesday (07/28/2011).
Previously unknown in the tank there are six gold fish, but three other tails are not known to exist, while a longer tail was floating on the water surface.
