Libyan rebels on Sunday (07/31/2011) arrested at least 63 people in a continuing effort to tighten security in the city of Benghazi, the eastern part of the country, and defeat armed groups loyal to Muamar Khadafy, said a spokesman.

"This morning we caught about 38 people and was arrested the next day more than 25 people," said Mustafa Al-Sagazly.

The arrests happened in a ferocious battle for five hours against a roadside bomb factory, and the rebels said the reason the operation is an armed group had orders from the regime Khadafy and suspected in the killing of their military leader.

"Four of our fighters were killed in the operation," said as-Sagazly. He said five Gaddafi loyalists were also killed in the clashes.

Traffic returned to normal in Benghazi on the eve of Ramadan, and there are signs in the streets to support the rebel forces who carried out attacks against the interior ministry command.

"We all support the Brigade, February 17," said a poster hanging on the overpass, which refers to one of the key forces behind the operation to dismantle the group blamed for breaking into jail last week.

"There is a high-ranking prisoner of war" among those who escaped from the detention center two weeks ago, said the February 17th Brigade leader Ismail as-Salabi.

He said only a "fraction" who fled during the dawn attack brigade.

Places the scene of fierce gunfight leaving pockmarks caused by bullets in the settlements around it, which appeals to viewers who are curious during the night but by the time the rebels came back improve security in the region.

Security forces patrolled the streets until late at night when the buyers were scattered before the holy month of Ramadan and bertarawih.

"Everything is stable and safe overnight," said Sagazly. "There was no confrontation."

The rebels, continued to look for members of the pro-Khadafy, he said.

"Some of them escaped and we are trying to catch them all over town," he added. "We caught them, that's all."

National Transition Council (NTC) this week issued repeated warnings to the militia groups - or kataebs - which remains outside the command to join the fighters at the front or the security forces in Benghazi.
