9 Civilians Killed in Afghanistan

Violence in southern Afghanistan left nine civilians were reported killed today. Most of the residents who were killed were victims of violent militant groups.

The death of nine people in Helmand province, reported after the United Nations (UN) announced an increase in civilians killed by violence in the land of conflict.

Previous UN civilian toll rises to 15 percent. The UN noted 1462 civilians were killed in the first six months of this year. This figure jumped of 1,271 souls in the same period. So reported by Reuters on Friday (07/15/2011).

While about nine civilians killed is known recorded on Friday, July 14 yesterday. The death toll included five civilians killed in Sangin District. They died in a car they drive hit by a roadside bomb blast.

While two others were killed in Nawa district of a similar explosion. Sedangan two other civilians were killed, while leaving the wedding. It was the police who thought they were militants, immediately opened fire on both victims.

Afghans are currently covered under the guarantee of their security concerns. Moreover, 33,000 U.S. troops (U.S.) is planned to be pulled out until 2012.
