British Muslim women campaigning against violent jihad. The campaign is conducted to improve the good name of jihad is often misused by terrorist groups.
The campaign is conducted by women's organizations called Inspire at London City Hall. The campaign is intended to combat other forms of violence but more focused on crime, terrorism, violence against women and torture in the name of Islam.
Jihad itself has a meaning to struggle in the way of Allah SWT Today, jihad is misused by extremists. They use the word jihad to justify the terror.
"Many people who think jihad against violence is a contradictory statement, but the jihad we are for peace," said Sara Khan, Director of Inspire as quoted Guardian, Monday (06/06/2011).
"Islam is considered as a religion that contains violence and repression against women, we can not remain silent when our religion is stated as such, " he said.
Inspire intends to make information refute the argument that says that the Qur'an often justify terrorism and violence against women and children. In addition, this organization also will encourage people to sign a declaration of jihad against violence.
