The UN says that the number of deaths of children a high rise in the incidence of war that is currently happening in Somalia.
UN surgeon Omar Saleh said that nearly half the victims who died in May aged under five years old.
He said that approximately 735 children currently being treated in Mogadishu due to burns, and bullet fragments hit by the explosion.
Even to the present war continues between government forces with a group of Islamic militants in the capital.
World Health Organization (WHO) said that approximately 1.590 are reported injured as a result of weapons in May, approximately 46 percent are children under the age of five years.
"This is the highest number of children who were reported earlier this year," said WHO representative Marthe Everard as reported by the BBC on Wednesday (01/06/2011).
Transition weak government is currently supported by approximately nine thousand African Union troops (UA) for the fight against Islamic groups associated with Al Shahab Al-Qaeda group and controlled almost all parts of the country of Somalia.
On Monday, two AU troops were killed during a suicide bombing prevention. UA troops said that the three attackers also reportedly killed in the attack.
Somalia has been wracked civil war for more than 20 years, previously run government toppled in 1991.
