Pakistani troops managed to encircle the Taliban are suspected to be perpetrators of the attacks, following the attack which happened at a military base in Pakistan's biggest today.
Forces Command Pakistani Taliban militants had surrounded the group that happened was still in the military headquarters that they attack. Previous attacks by the Taliban led to the two planes owned by the United States (U.S.) and killed 12 security officers.
Taliban militants themselves claim responsibility for the attack that occurred in the city of Karachi. They said the attack relates to acts of revenge for the deaths jaringn Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden May 2 last.
"They do not want out alive. They are dying as a martyr," said Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan told The Associated Press on Monday (5/23/2011).
Approximately 15 members of Taliban militants armed with grenades, rockets and automatic weapons attacked the Mehran naval base on Sunday, May 22 evening local time.
12 hours after the first attack, most of the perpetrators of the attacks still continue to persist at the base.
The attacks against the Taliban was the largest experienced in Pakistan. The ability of militants to enter into the military complex, tarnished the existence of the Pakistani military.
