Vietnam Replace with Injection Death Penalty Shoot

Vietnam replaced the death penalty types of firing a syringe. Penalty is considered more humane lethal injection by the Government of Vietnam.

"Effective July 1, 2011, lethal injection executions would replace the penalty shot in Vietnam," said the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security officials quoted by AFP on Monday (6/27/2011).

The death penalty in Vietnam is generally imposed on drug dealers and murderers. Throughout the year, 19 people in Vietnam were sentenced to death, four of whom were executed.

Meanwhile, Amnesty International stated, the replacement of the death penalty can not be said to be inhuman. Amnesty also asked Vietnam to abolish the death penalty
