UK Train Saudi Arabian Armed Forces

British Armed Forces is training the Saudi Arabian elite to suppress protests in Bahrain. The training included among them is the use of long-range rifle shoot.

Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia has allowed the UK to train its troops in the use of weapons, control of terrain and military training generally including taming bombs, and other general keteriban.

Bahrain Royal Family currently uses about 1,200 personnel of the Armed Forces of Saudi Arabia to quell demonstrations. At the same time, there are also criticisms of the troop activity that often violate human rights, such as reported by AFP on Wednesday (06/01/2011).

Last year, there were allegations that accused the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces use British equipment and armament to launch a secret attack in Yemen.

Britain has also been selling military equipment to Saudi Arabia worth 110 million Pounds. The equipment in the form of an assault rifle, ammunition and other weapons. In 2009, Britain also supplies Saudi Arabia with grenades, tear gas and riot gear
