Obama to Bali, TNI Ready

Although the East Asia Summit 2011 event is still several months ahead, the military started preparing to secure a meeting between the Head of State of East Asia Plus, which is planned to be attended by U.S. President Barrack Obama.

At least a thousand military personnel from the Udayana Regional Military Command IX involved to secure the East Asia Summit in November. IX Udayana Regional Military Command also will hold special exercises for the safety of Obama and other VVIP guest.

"These exercises VVIP security for sure, because there are several heads of state there, and many personnel may be more than a thousand military personnel are involved," said IX Udayana Military Commander Maj. Gen. Leonard in Makodam Udayana, Denpasar, on Tuesday (14/06/2011) .

Military commander in the East Asia Summit asserted 2011, Obama is the same as securing any other head of state. "Nothing special, but we mengamanakan as head of state who come to Indonesia we treat the same area, including the RI 1 and other heads of state that we are treated the same," he said.

So far there has been no coordination between the GOI and the U.S. Government related to this Obama's arrival. "Until now there has been no coordination with the American military, because it's still the plan for implementation in November,"explained Commander.
