Karaoke Explosion Wounds 5 in Women

Five women became victims when an explosion at a karaoke in Tacuro, southern Philippines on Sunday (19/06/2011).

The incident comes amid fears the country against possible terrorist attacks.

Local police chief, Gilberto Tuzon said investigations have been made to ensure the cause of the explosion. Also the possibility the incident was a terrorist attack.

Tuzon said the victims were guests and employees of the karaoke.

According to local military officials, the blast was caused by 81 mm mortars, but the damage caused is not too large.

Previously the U.S. government re-issued a travel warning to Philippines. The warning was released Tuesday (14/06/2011), it is mentioned that there is a possibility of terrorist attacks in the south and the Philippine capital, Manila.
