Ban Ki Moon UN Secretary Being Back

General Assembly of the United Nations (UN) will re-designate Ban Ki-moon became Secretary-General of the United Nations for the second time. Today the United Nations will approve a second term for UN Secretary General Ban.

Senior diplomats from South Korea (ROK) supported by all major economies to become UN secretary-general a second time. 67-year-old man ran back to him two weeks ago. He received the full support of the UN Security Council (UNSC).

With no one opposing the appointment of Ban, all 192 UN member states will certainly confirm the new term for Ban Ki-Moon.

"No penolakanan at all. He may not be a favorite to some, but not a reason to stop it," he said a diplomat told AFP on Tuesday (21/06/2011).

Over the last five years, Mr. Ban said climate change became a major focus when he was UN secretary general. He also promised to speak on behalf of protesters who want change in Arab countries.

This attitude makes Syrian President Bashar al-Assad refused to accept calls from Ban. Previously he was also briefly involved in verbal confrontations with Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi over the phone, and several other heads of state in the Arab region.
It is now the central region of turmoil with most people want a change of government that has lasted a long time.

Hopefully, in the second term for Mr. Ban, human rights enforcement can be an advantage. At least that is what prompted the UN Human Rights Supervisory Director Philippe Bolopion.
