Dozens of Taliban militants surrendered to the Government of Afghanistan in Kunduz Province.
"As many as 13 militants, led by Yar Mohammad gave up and decided to join the government in Chahar Dara district on Thursday," said local official told Xinhua on Friday (03/06/2011).
Taliban militants had previously fought against Afghan and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the province of Kunduz, Baghlan and Takhar.
National Security Directorate (NDS) said the militants had handed nine guns into the local security authorities.
The war against the Taliban government has lasted 10 years. Meanwhile, Afghan President Hamid Karzai's reconciliation telahmembentuk 70 members of the Board in September 2010. This is intended to accelerate the process of reconciliation with the Taliban government.
