TEXAS - President of Texas A & M University in the United States (U.S.), R Bowen Loftin became very popular social networking site Facebook.
Last month, Loftin joined the actors and the people who obsessed to social networking sites, when he has a friend up to 5,000 accounts. University officials claimed, Loftin was the first college president who became popular on Facebook.
On the wall of his Facebook account, Loftin said to his friends, mostly college students, what to do. "I have lots of pending friend requests. I ask your advice about the best way to stay connected with you all," wrote Loftin as quoted by the Chronicle website on Monday (05/09/2011).

Some people suggest Loftin to use the fan page up, the less personal but designed to have a more casual followers. Some people suggest other social network, or filter out people who are not friends really are.
McDonald said the campus still do not know what to do. The reason, Loftin like personal interaction with a real Facebook profile. He did not have enough time to sort out his list and would be too difficult for him to choose someone.
"Our president is clearly not in the ivory tower. We certainly do not want to put him in there,"said McDonald.
Meanwhile, Director of Communications and Public Affairs Washington State University, Barbara Chamberlain advised the president to use Twitter. According to him, these social networking sites may be legally privileged.
