WASHINGTON (Reuters CAIRO) - occupied Jerusalem is the city like a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any time. Where any attack from Jewish extremists against the Muslims holy sites would diminish the chances of achieving peace with the Palestinians and damage stability in the entire Muslim world, it is submitted by the Jordanian ambassador, Prince Zeid Raad Zeid al-Hussein, told the Washington Times in an interview published on Monday.

Al-Hussein said that the Obama administration does not seem too aware of the vulnerable situation in Jerusalem and the importance of the city to Palestinian and other Arab countries. He said that ignoring the issue of Jerusalem and Jewish settlements illegal, as proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, would extinguish the chances of a peace agreement.

The number of incidents between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters continued to increase in the city that claimed Israel as a Jewish temple locations tersebu. Dozens of people were injured and arrested in recent weeks.

Referring to the clashes between Israeli security forces and Arab protesters in Jerusalem in recent weeks, Jordan's ambassador to the kingdom Hasyimi explain these concerns about the events that continue to occur, because it will lead to the events of 1969, namely arson attempt by Al-Aqsa Mosque Denis Michael Rohan from Australia.

Rohan is a devout Christian, who later arrested and found to have mental disorders.

Rohan called himself the "messenger of God" and said that he committed arson at their "holy whisper." He put in a mental hospital and later deported from Israel.

"We fear that in the short term, no such incident that may happen again," said al-Hussein. "It will burn excess emotion, (and) the consequences will be very severe."

At warned that the U.S. did not realize the serious consequences that may result from such incident in the peace process, and also for the entire Middle East region.

The threat of attacks on religious sites such as Al-Aqsa Mosque is the thing that really will damage and reverse the U.S. policy, "Zeid said." However, there is no discussion about this in Washington. There's something not right. "

Jordanian diplomat said the two-state solution would be useless if Israel continues to insist the government and refused to discuss the status of the capital.

"If the problem continues to be left Jerusalem a protracted, if the problem of Jerusalem can not be resolved, then no agreement will be reached, even if they negotiate about other places," he said. "Why (the Palestinians) have to negotiate? There is no purpose behind it. What are the advantages to be gained from Arab countries?"

"If there is no two-state solution for the problem of Jerusalem, is there another way?" asked al-Hussein.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed only delay the construction of new settlements in the West Bank, where Israel would be allowed to build 3,000 units or a complete home. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton seemed to agree it is on his last trip to the Middle East. This is in contrast to Obama's initial demands for Israel to freeze the settlements.

Shortly after meeting with Clinton last month, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that he would not stand for election in January was. The aide said the decision had something to do with Clinton's partiality towards Israel on the issue of illegal Jewish settlements
